WITNESS

The more I think about Abba’s heart for his lost sheep, the more I realize that nothing about that ‘me, myself and I on the way to heaven life’ I once craved is really going to be possible if I let God. What God really wants is for me and you through our lives to bring an authenticity to Him that people cannot ignore. He wants us to be generous with our lives. When He asks us to be witnesses, what does He mean? You know how the signatures of witnesses bring  validity to a document or their presence affirms a narrative, He wants us to be that for the gospel. Witnesses that bring an authenticity to what the bible says.

Some days ago, my team hosted a video conference meeting. It’s a monthly meeting scheduled for 8 am. Being the hosts, we were there ahead of the scheduled time.  This day however, as we connected with one of the regions, we noticed the cleaning staff in the room. The guy was totally oblivious of any third party and was zealously cleaning and singing along side.  We watched him for over 5 minutes, switching songs (we could hear him singing the songs obviously playing on his phone via his headphones) as he assiduously arranged the meeting room and left. All the while he didn’t know that he was being watched, and not just by one person.

Be an example

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity” 1Timothy 4:12

I have come to the conclusion that being an example radiates from our very being.  It’s who we are, what we believe in, and how we act. There is good in everyone.  Even though our beliefs may differ, we all radiate something. What is it that you radiate?  What conviction shows forth from you that says “I AM AN EXAMPLE”?  Can Christ depend on you to communicate a message? Is your life an epistle to be read of all men? Sometimes, these things sound far fetched, but they actually are not.
