LOUD IT: Jehovah Overdo!!!

jehovaah overdo

I know there’s some of us who need encouragement and that’s why I love testimonies so. They serve as reminders that God did it for someone else. They remind us of God’s might and assure us that if He did it for others. He will do it for us too. They encourage us when we find ourselves in similar circumstances

Today, I am glad to share the testimony of my friend and sister. Infact, she is almost my name sake. I met her first 7 years ago when we belonged to the same praise team/choir. She was diligent and served the Lord with her talent. I knew she was trusting the Lord for a baby but it was really inspiring to see her commit time diligently to service whilst she waited. Here’s her testimony.

“Where do I begin? God has been faithful to me and knowing Him is the biggest testimony of a...

It was the end of her fellowship and Alero smiled as she unpacked her gifts. Uncle Lawrence, her godfather, definitely knew how to surprise her. She got a new Macbook, she remembered mentioning needing a new one once in a conversation. She also got a lovely selfie stick and a note saying ‘go see the world’ and a cruise ticket for a Transatlantic cruise over the summer break. She was so thrilled by his generosity but more by his thoughtfulness.

Uncle Lawrence. Together they shared a special bond which only grew stronger as she aged, she thought.  Alero had Uncle Lawrence on speed dial, from Facebook to Twitter, Twitter to Skype, His PA knew that Alero’s calls were not to be ignored and their relationship made Uncle Lawrence the savvy tech guy amongst his peers...

Gods waiting room

My dear Hauwa,

I think this is a good time to share with you how I’m learning to wait on the Lord. I trust that it will help you as you journey through 2016.

As a single adult waiting on God for a mate amongst other things, I certainly have learned what it means to wait and for this reason  Isaiah 40:31 rings true, especially for me; “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

I used to dread waiting but God has shown me that waiting can be a good thing...

The Reward of Consistency

Welcome to February!

How was January for you? For many of us, January was a month of decisions, of fasting, praying and trusting God, generally just positioning ourselves for the year, and making the required changes.

However, I am sharing today about the lethargy that tends to set in when we do not see immediate results. Have you ever tried to axe down a tree? You keep hitting it in the same place with the same axe and it looks like nothing is happening.

But you know what?

After all those hits in the same place, it simply takes a final hit to bring the tree down. The axe hit that brings down the tree is not the strongest hit; it is simply the most consistent hit. So, don’t stop hitting the tree simply because you can’t see the tree falling down. Keep at it…stay consistent.

In transition

I’m glad to have @2yus as a guest on my blog today. She was here last year with the ‘This Time Next Year’ post. check it out here.

Today she shares about Transition…Enjoy

“I’m not a girl, not yet a woman, all I need is time, a moment that is mine, while I’m in between…” Britney Spears

In life, we often find ourselves ‘in between’. In between our reality and our dreams/goals/aspirations. There is always a period of ‘waiting to become’; a season of transition. It is not a pleasant place to be in. This is not surprising; no one likes long layovers while travelling even where the waiting time is a definite 4 or 7 hours. Just imagine been in transit indefinitely. Arrghhhh!!! But wait you must. I admit that in life it is quite tough to go through a season of transition.  I...

24 hours ahead…

Last year I travelled to the UK for my ‘brother’s wedding. I call him a brother because he has been my friend for almost 18 years and truly is a brother.  So you can imagine how excited I was as I made plans to attend from Lagos. Infact, I thought the dates had stuck somewhere in my head.  I arrived the UK a few days before and the night before the wedding, I called and spoke to him and his then fiancée, excitedly saying to them that I would see them the next day which to me was their wedding day.

So it was that I got dressed, bid my friend with whom I stayed good bye, carefully checking and noting my bus numbers.  I boarded the bus and then walked a few metres from the bus stop to the church. When I got there, it was quiet and there was no activity...

Random Post – ‘My Traffic Light Moment’

Category: Blog Comments: 17 comments

Two days ago, I was driving home from work, I had worked a little later than usual and the road was slightly deserted at the time. As I approached Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, a car sped past me, it was going so fast, its rear lights were all I saw in a few seconds.  I was so ‘tripped’, it felt like I was watching the scene from a movie.  But then just ahead, there was a traffic light and I couldn’t help laughing when the driver screeched to a halt as the traffic light turned RED. Your humble self drove and slowly brought my car to a halt beside the guy that just sped past me in his Porsche Panamera. Trust me, I flashed him a nice victorious smile and he smiled in return. Ha, yes, as fast and expensive as his car was relative to mine, there was no ‘beef’ but we both had to wait...

‘In His Time’

He has made everything beautiful in its time…Eccl 3:11

Do we remember the song by the Maranatha singers?

‘In His Time…He makes all things beautiful in His time…

Lord please show me every day as you are teaching me your way

That you do just what you say in your time’

I’m writing this to encourage those of us that think that God is running late and perhaps are tempted to ask ‘God why me’?. Last night, I had a conversation with a friend who seemed to be asking God ‘why me?’ and who sometimes felt standing up for God hadn’t quite paid out. Just reminded me of Elijah, who after standing up to Jezebel felt that he was standing alone. Imagine,  this mighty man of God that had held back the rain by the word of his mouth was terrified by a woman’s threats and ran away...
